Effective Practice Definitions
Practices
Practices refer to the actual performance or application of policies and procedures. Practices contained in the database represent policies and procedures that, when implemented systematically, promote compliance with National Standards.
Methodologies
Methodologies are the approaches, processes and procedures that either alone or in combination with other methodologies make up practices. Methodologies contained in the database have been identified by the Best Practices Committee as being useful means for determining effective practices.
Examples
Examples are descriptions of practices that have been developed and currently are in use by individual community foundations. Each cited example includes a description of the practice, including how it was designed, how it is implemented, how it is evaluated and the subsequent result. Examples contained in the database have been submitted by the community foundations field and reviewed by the Best Practices Committee.
