A community foundation's governing body ensures that the governing documents include policies for size of the board, required number of meetings annually, limits of members' terms, and structure and responsibilities of standing committees.

Assurance that the governing body is organized to properly and effectively exercise its responsibilities to the community and is regularly checking these policies to insure that the Foundation has fresh perspective and is relevant and serving current and future community needs.
