The Standard

A community foundation accepts and administers a diversity of gift and fund types to meet the varied philanthropic objectives of donors.

Underlying Rationale

Attracts donors and additional gifts that may not otherwise come to the community foundation and which represent all aspects of the community. Ensures that the foundation is well positioned to meet not only the current needs of its donors, but also the long term needs of the community.

Potential Outcomes

Donors are attracted to the opportunity to take advantage of the community foundation’s community know-how, thereby assuring them that grants from their fund will meet their objectives while always being relevant to current needs. Donors will make repeat gifts to the community foundation as their life circumstances and charitable objectives change.
